07:52 Exclusive Video Dialogue: Rupiah Weakens, Will Imported Meat Prices Rise High? News – 55 minutes ago

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia- The weakening of the Rupiah exchange rate has increased concerns among business actors who still rely on imported raw material supplies regarding soaring production costs.

The Rupiah was at Rp. 15,935 per US Dollar in the last trade this week, Friday (27/10/2023) or collapsed 0.13%.

The President Director of PT Berdikari, Muhammad Syarkawi Rauf, said that the weakening of the Rupiah would have an impact on domestic meat prices, considering that 816 thousand tons of Indonesia’s meat needs were imported meat.

It’s just that currently meat stocks until the fasting month of 2024 are still sufficient and imports have been carried out, so it is hoped that the effect of weakening the Rupiah will not be too big.

What is the impact of the weakening Rupiah on imported food commodities, including meat? For complete details, see Safrina Nasution’s dialogue with the Main Director of PT Berdikari, Muhammad Syarkawi Rauf in Squawk Box, CNBC Indonesia (Monday, 10/30/2023)
