6 Israeli Supporting Artists: from Gal Gadot to Kylie Jenner Lifestyle – 2 days ago

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – The war between Israel and the Palestinian Islamic group, Hamas, has been going on for almost a week.

The Palestinian Ministry of Health recorded that 1,354 Palestinians were killed and 6,049 people were injured, while 1,300 Israelis were killed as of Thursday (12/10/2023).

The conflict between the two countries also resulted in two camps of support, including among artists. Some time ago, most of Generation Z from around the world came together to strongly criticize celebrities who openly expressed support for Israel amidst the conflict with Hamas.


So, who are the artists who support Israel? The following is a summary from various sources.

1. Kylie Jenner

Celebrity from the United States (US), Kylie Jenner, has just received criticism from netizens after openly expressing support for Israel even though the related post has been deleted.

Reporting from Insider, Kylie uploaded an Instagram Story by sharing a photo from a pro-Israel account (@StandWithUs) on Sunday (8/10/2023). However, the upload was deleted an hour later.

Even though it had been deleted, Kylie’s fans immediately flooded the comments column of her feed upload with Palestinian flags. Not only that, netizens also said that Kylie had no knowledge and concern for Palestine.

2. Gal Gadot

The second celebrity who supports Israel is Gal Gadot. Cast Wonder Woman This shows support for the country of his birth by writing “Stand with Israel” on his profile and uploading a photo with a caption supporting Israel on his Instagram feed.

Even though she is born in Israel, Gal Gadot has not escaped criticism from Palestinian supporters.

“I support Israel, you should too. The world cannot stand by while these terrible acts of terror are taking place!” wrote Gal Gadot in her Instagram upload (@gal_gadot), quoted Friday (13/10/2023).

The upload was immediately flooded with more than 85 thousand comments. Most of the comments said “Free Palestine!” and includes an image of the Palestinian flag. However, quite a few netizens also provide support for Israel.

3.Madonna

The US “Queen of Pop”, Madonna, is also among the artists supporting Israel. Through her upload on Monday (9/10/2023), Madonna expressed support for Israel and highlighted children affected by the war.

“What is happening in Israel is very painful. Seeing all families, especially children being chased, attacked and killed in the streets is very heartbreaking. Imagine if this happened to you,” wrote Madonna via caption.

“My heart aches for Israel, for the families and homes that have been destroyed, for the children who have disappeared, for the innocent victims who have died, for all who have suffered as a result of this conflict,” he continued.

Based on monitoring by CNBC Indonesia, Madonna’s upload was flooded with more than 26 thousand comments, most of which came from Palestinian supporters.

“Are you kidding Madonna? FREE PALESTINE!” wrote one netizen in English.

“Why didn’t I hear your voice (opinion) when Israel attacked the Palestinians and drove them (Palestinians) from their homes?” wrote another netizen sarcastically.

4. Kim Kardashian

A public figure from the US, Kim Kardashian, voiced her support for Israel through a post on her personal Instagram account (@kimkardashian). Similar to Madonna, Kim also highlights children who are victims of war.

“A message to my Jewish friends and family. I love you. I support you. I have heard how scared you are during this time. I want you to know that you are not alone in this,” Kim wrote.

“Cruel terrorism has claimed innocent lives. Now, Israelis and Palestinians alike are suffering and paying a very heavy price,” Kim said in the same post.

Even though the comments feature of the upload on Thursday (12/10/2023) has been turned off, Kim still did not escape attacks from netizens supporting Palestine. Calls of “Free Palestine!” and the Palestinian flag still floods Kim’s Instagram comments in other posts.

5.Natalie Portman

Israeli-born film actor, Natalie Portman, also voiced support for her home country via Instagram. In his upload, Portman admitted that he was sad to see children, women and the elderly who were victims of war.

“My heart breaks for the people of Israel. Children, women and the elderly have been murdered and kidnapped from their own homes,” wrote Portman on Monday (9/10/2023).

“I am shocked by these barbaric acts. My heart is filled with love and prayers for all the families affected,” continued the Thor: Love and Thunder actor.

However, the upload did not receive a response from netizens because the comment feature was turned off. Apart from that, the comment feature on other posts is also limited so that it cannot receive comment attacks from netizens.

6. Josh Gad

Comedian and voice actor for various animated films, Josh Gad, is one of the figures on the list of supporters of Israel. Through his upload, Gad admitted that he was speechless about Hamas’ attacks on Israel.

“I pray for my family members in Israel. A cowardly act. What we are witnessing firsthand today has never happened before since the Yom Kippur war,” wrote the voice of Olaf in the film Frozen.

“My heart is broken for those who lost loved ones and for the victims who were taken hostage. A terrible day,” he continued.
