Anies Reveals DKI Governor Has Increased UMP 43%, Jokowi Sindir? News – 3 hours ago

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Presidential candidate number 1, Anies Baswedan was outspoken when talking about when he was Governor of DKI Jakarta. In 2021, Anies decided that the 2022 DKI Jakarta UMP would only increase by 0.85%.

Anies said he made this decision because of regulations issued by the central government. He said that the 2022 DKI Jakarta UMP increase of 0.85% was deemed unfair to workers.

“Then in 2021 we agreed to increase by 3.3%. So with the new regulation the increase is 0.8% even though the economy has improved, how do we explain that? Even though inflation is only 1.1% then this is a regulation that is not fair,” said Anies in the Apindo Dialogue-2024 Presidential Candidate Debate at the Bank Mega Tower, Jakarta, Monday (11/12/2023).

“Entrepreneurs give wages like this, this is unfairness. There, as the leader, I said to the Minister (Ida Fauziah), if it had to be 0.8%, it would be the mother who signed it, not me,” he added.

However, Anies finally revised his policy by increasing the 2022 DKI Jakarta UMP by 5.1%. According to Anies, this figure is considered fair for workers and entrepreneurs.

“What are we doing? We are making Jakarta the Special Capital Region of Jakarta, the legal basis for which is the Capital City clause, so we are increasing it by 5.1%. We need your wisdom too,” he said.

However, this decision was ultimately canceled after DKI Governor Decree (Kepgub) Number 1517 of 2021 concerning the 2022 Provincial Minimum Wage issued by Anies lost at the Jakarta State Administrative Court (PTUN). Anies lost to the businessman’s demands.

In fact, Anies said, there was a Governor of DKI Jakarta who had raised the UMP to 43% (43.87%). This happened in 2013 when the Governor of DKI Jakarta at that time was Joko Widodo, who is now President of the Republic of Indonesia.

“We in Jakarta have been sued by Apindo regarding the UMP. This is an illustration, from the UMP in Jakarta between 2004 and 2022, the increase in the UMP from 6.3% has increased to 43% in 2013. I’m not yet governor, you know, so don’t blame me on this (Don’t blame me for this),” said Anies.

Anies also hopes that in the future the regulations regarding wages will be revised. He proposed that wage regulations be made multi-year, involve workers-employers-government, and there is no longer a need for tug-of-war between workers and employers. The figures must match predictions that describe the Indonesian economy in the following year.

“So that we don’t have tension every year,” he stressed.
