Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Solo Mayor Gibran Rakabuming Raka has officially become Prabowo Subianto’s running mate in the 2024 presidential election. Even though Gibran, who is a PDIP cadre, should be supporting the Ganjar-Mahfud MD pair.

PDIP also views Gibran as a dissident figure. Chairman of the Surakarta City PDIP DPC, FX Hadi Rudyatmo alias FX Rudy, emphasized that he had closed the book on Gibran Rakabuming Raka’s membership card (KTA) as a PDIP cadre.

“The book is closed. This issue is closed,” said FX Rudy after attending the Memetri Bumi Ajidi Culture Carnival in Solo, Central Java, Monday evening as written on Wednesday (8/11/2023).

Regarding returning the KTA, said Rudy, it was Gibran’s personal awareness. Even so, his party is reluctant to force the person concerned to return the KTA.

“Until now, the KTA has not been returned. However, whether it is returned or not is up to you. Basically, it is no longer a problem. Mas Gibran is legally no longer part of the PDI Perjuangan since he became vice presidential candidate for another party coalition,” he said.

Apart from Gibran, PDIP also asked Medan Mayor Bobby Nasution to do the same thing. PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto asked Bobby to resign from the party and return his KTA because he openly supported the Prabowo-Gibran pair.

“If you support others, go ahead, but then resign, your KTA will be returned,” said Hasto after the weekly TPN Ganjar meeting at the High End Building, Kebon Sirih, Central Jakarta, Wednesday (8/11/2023).
