Apindo Dialogue for 2024 Presidential Candidates RI Entrepreneurs Scream, Burdened by Interest Rates & Exchange Rates News – 53 minutes ago

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Entrepreneurs said they were under pressure due to global pressures, including high interest rates, geopolitical uncertainty, competition between the United States and China and the complexity of digitalization, including Artificial Intelligence.

This was expressed by APINDO Chairman Shinta Kamdani in the 2024 APINDO-Presidential Candidate Dialogue on the 2024-2029 Indonesian Economic Roadmap, in Jakarta, Monday (11/12/2023).

Shinta said that due to this global pressure, APINDO’s survey recorded that 75% of entrepreneurs experienced a slowdown in sales. According to him, entrepreneurs are very burdened by interest rates and exchange rates.

“4 out of 10 entrepreneurs experience stagnant sales and are burdened by high exchange rates and interest rates due to global pressure,” said Shinta.

Therefore, he said collaboration was key. This collaboration was carried out to create a strategy so that Indonesia could be productive and competitive. Despite facing shocks, Shinta emphasized that entrepreneurs are still optimistic about business growth prospects.

The reason, said Shinta, is that 40% of entrepreneurs believe that business in Indonesia can grow by more than 5% and 30% of entrepreneurs believe that the business world will reach 3-5%.

“58% of important business actors are still planning to carry out business expansion and investment,” he explained. Even though she is optimistic, Shinta emphasized that the business world still hopes for concrete changes in the future.

“This can be realized with economic transformation and productivity creation factors,” he stressed.
