Attending the Peak of National Teachers’ Day, Jokowi Gives This Message News – 10 hours ago

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) expressed his appreciation and thanks to all teachers throughout Indonesia for their service as teachers and educators.

“It is the state’s obligation to give great appreciation and gratitude to teachers,” said Jokowi at the event at the peak of the 2023 National Teachers’ Day commemoration in Jakarta on Saturday (25/11/2023).

“I was able to become a president like this because of my teachers’ (education),” he added, which was then greeted by applause from the teachers present.

Jokowi said teachers have many obligations, one of which is to be able to produce superior human resources (HR), which will later be the answer to increasingly difficult future and global challenges.

“Of course teachers also have many obligations to continue to innovate, to continue to improve the quality of our education, in order to produce human resources with Indonesian personalities, Indonesian character and superior human resources in facing future challenges that are increasingly difficult,” Jokowi said.

“Global changes are always happening now, technological disruption is always happening every day, the global political landscape is always changing, the economic landscape is also always changing. It’s hard to predict, it’s hard to guess, it’s hard to calculate, it’s hard to calculate,” he added.

Apart from that, Jokowi also appreciated the movement to change the regional police’s thinking in educating students, one of which was through the Freedom to Learn program initiated by the Minister of Education, Culture, Research and Technology (Kemendikbudristek) Nadiem Makariem.

“Therefore, I really appreciate the joint movement, moving together in the framework of Freedom to Learn which was initiated by the Minister,” said Jokowi.

“Because without a change in paradigm, a change in mindset, it will be difficult for us to adapt to changes in the world which is currently changing almost every second, technology is always changing every second,” he explained.

“Therefore, I also really appreciate that the Merdeka Belajar platform is always used as a reference for sharing between teachers so that our innovation is not too late due to changes in the world,” stressed Jokowi.

Previously, Jokowi also attended the commemoration of the 78th anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia Teachers Association (PGRI).

“Indonesia will be at the peak of the demographic bonus in 2030 to 2035. This is an opportunity that only comes once in a country’s civilization and must be utilized as well as possible so that Indonesia can leap to become a developed country. Good quality human resources can be achieved with the help of teachers. “Indonesian teachers who are superior and great. Teachers who are guides, motivators, mentors, friends and teachers who are role models,” wrote Jokowi in a post on his official Instagram account.
