Avtur prices are approaching IDR 15,000/liter, are plane tickets safe? News – 1 hour ago

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Petroleum prices are moving up again, which is also increasing the price of aviation fuel. This raises the question of whether it will increase the price of commercial airline tickets?

World crude oil prices opened slightly higher in trading last Monday (6/11/2023). Where the price of WTI crude oil opened up 0.77% at US$81.13 per barrel, likewise the price of Brent crude oil opened up 0.78% to US$85.55 per barrel.

This also makes the price of aviation fuel more expensive. Observed on Pertamina One Solution Pertamina’s sales page, the price of avtur for the period 1 – 14 November 2023 at Soekarno Hatta International Airport (CGK) was recorded at IDR 14,780 per liter for domestic flights, while for international flights UScents was 85.6 per liter.


This price has decreased compared to the previous two weeks, Rp. 15,003 per liter for domestic flights and UScent 88.1 per liter for international flights.

But when compared to the period 1 – 14 July, the price of aviation fuel was observed to have increased by 23% and 16%, with a price of IDR 11,964 per liter for domestic flights and UScent 73 for international flights.

Likewise, the price of aviation fuel at I Gusti Ngurah Rai (DPS) airport currently reaches IDR 16,505 per liter for domestic flights, and UScent 95.6 per liter for international flights.

This price was observed to increase by 13% and 7% compared to the period 1 – 14 July, with a price of IDR 14,524 per liter and UScent 88.9 per liter for international flights.
