Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – General Chairperson of the Indonesian Entrepreneurs Association (Apindo) Shinta Widjaja Kamdani hopes that the upcoming 2024 General Election (Pemilu) can run safely and smoothly in order to maintain social and political stability because it will be a place for betting on Indonesia’s future fate.
He added that social and political stability are important factors that can influence the business climate.
“We hope that the election and the series of campaigns will run smoothly, honestly and fairly in accordance with the goals of an aspirational and democratic election. One person, one vote, one value,” said Shinta to CNBC Indonesia, Tuesday (24/10/2023).
Shinta reminded that the election of a new leader on February 14 2024 would be free from fraud, guaranteeing healthy, participatory competition, with a clear accountability mechanism.
“Because this will affect social and political stability ahead of the democratic party in 2024,” he said.
According to Shinta, the campaign period is crucial for all Indonesian people, as a process for all levels of society, including entrepreneurs, to study and carefully examine the vision, mission, policies and strategies of all potential leaders of this nation.
“The leadership transition will be an important point for Indonesia to immediately run fast, set a good foundation, so that we can quickly utilize the demographic bonus in the next 10 years as development capital,” said Shinta.
Furthermore, Shinta and Apindo congratulated all presidential candidates (capres) and vice presidential candidates (cawapres) as well as all supporters, who were preparing to enter the series of democratic parties.
“We congratulate all the presidential and vice presidential candidates and all their supporters, who are preparing to enter the series of democratic parties. Together, they will determine how we will write our nation’s history in the future,” he concluded.
