Check the applications that use the most data, Instagram-FB is horrified! Tech – 17 hours ago

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – A recent study revealed a list of applications that collect the most personal data from users. Research was conducted on 100 applications available on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.

As a result, applications under Meta (Facebook, Instagram, Messenger) are in the top ranks as platforms that use the most personal data.

These applications request access to 14 user personal data to be fully functional. For example, location data, browsing track records, contacts, etc.

Other applications on the list are LinkedIn, YouTube, Instacart. Each asks for 12 permissions to personal data.

Of the ‘Top 20’ list of iOS apps, nearly half (9 out of 20) requested access to 11 different personal data. A surprising finding, it turns out that applications under Google do not ask for too much access to personal data.

The famous social media from China, TikTok, also collects less user personal data than Facebook et al. Based on application stores, Google Play Store takes more user data than Apple App Store.

Can be seen from X (formerly Twitter). On the Android version, there are 11 personal data requests. Meanwhile the iOS version ‘only’ asks for access to 7 personal data.
