Chinese HP Rises from the Abyss, Here’s the Proof Tech – 11 hours ago

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – China’s smartphone market is starting to rise from the abyss. This is proven by the sales results of the latest Xiaomi cellphones which are quite positive.

“Sales of the Mi 14 series have reached 1 million units,” said Xiaomi Chief Executive Lei Jun on his Weibo account, quoted from Reuters, Thursday (9/11/2023).

The Mi 14 series has been on sale in China starting from October 31, 2023. Cellphones are sold starting from 3,999 yuan (Rp. 8.6 million), supported by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip and HyperOS software.

Globally, demand for smartphones in the market has decreased for 9 consecutive quarters. This incident occurred as the Covid-19 pandemic spread and the economy weakened.

These two reasons make people choose not to rush to buy a cellphone. They will wait longer before finally updating their phone.

Not only Xiaomi, Huawei is also known to have recently achieved good results with its newest cellphone. Huawei has just launched the Mate 60. Its sales experienced a big jump, a sweet achievement after the company received export control sanctions from the United States (US) in 2019.

Meanwhile, IDC analyst Will Wong said Xiaomi’s achievements were a sign that the market was strengthening again. The Chinese market is thought to be on the right track to return to normal.

IDC stated year-on-year sales growth in the Chinese market in the fourth quarter. But research companies are still silent about the growth rate.

Qualcomm is also seeing increasing demand. The chip design company explained that there was strong demand from smartphone companies, including in China.
