Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – The government has ordered the determination and announcement of the provincial minimum wage (UMK) no later than November 30. This is stipulated in Article 35 of Government Regulation (PP) No. 51/2023 concerning Amendments to Government Regulation No. 36/2021 concerning Wages.

However, as of today, Friday (1/12/2023), not all provincial governments have determined and announced the 2024 UMK for each district/city in their respective regions.

It is observed that for the island of Java, all provinces have determined and announced the 2024 UMK. However, not yet for other islands.


The average UMK determined refers to the formulation of PP No. 51/2023, meaning it is below workers’ demands of 15%.

The following is the 2024 UMK size on Java Island:

Banten Province

The Acting Governor of Banten, Al Muktabar, in the Decree of the Governor of Banten Number 561/Kep.293-Huk/2023 concerning the UMK in Banten Province in 2024, decided that the UMK in the Banten region would increase by around 1-3% for 2024.

1. Cilegon City rose 3.39% from IDR 4.65 million to IDR 4,815,102.80
2. Tangerang City rose 3.83% from IDR 4.58 million to IDR 4,760,289.54
3. South Tangerang City rose 2.62% from IDR 4.55 million to IDR 4,670,791
4. Tangerang Regency rose 1.64% from IDR 4.53 million to IDR 4,601,988
5. Serang Regency increased 1.51% from IDR 4.49 million to IDR 4,560,894.85
6. Serang City rose 1.41% from IDR 4.09 million to IDR 4,148,602
7. Pandeglang Regency rose 1.03% from IDR 2.98 million to IDR 3,010,929.87
8. Lebak Regency increased 1.16% from IDR 2.94 million to IDR 2,978,764.69

Previously, the Banten provincial government had also set the provincial minimum wage (UMP) in 2024 to increase by IDR 66,532 or 2.50% to IDR 2,727,812.

province of Central Java

Acting Governor of Central Java Nana Sudjana set the 2024 UMK in the Decree of the Governor of Central Java No. 561/57 of 2023 dated 30 November 2023 and took effect from 1 January 2024.

Acting Governor of West Java Bey Triadi Machmudin in the Decree of the Governor of West Java No: 561.7/Kep.804-Kesra/2003 concerning Regency/City Minimum Wages in the West Java Province Region in 2024 sets the UMK in the West Java region for 2024 to increase by an average of 2 .50%

DI Yogyakarta Province

The 2024 UMP in Yogyakarta is the UMP with the second highest increase in all of Indonesia. That is set to increase by 7.27% to IDR 2,125,897.
