Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Boycotts of brands from and supporting Israel are increasingly being called for by most of the world community. This time, the hashtag #BoycottDior became trending on social media, especially X (formerly Twitter).

This hashtag was widely used by netizens after Dior, a French luxury brand, reportedly fired the Palestinian-American (US) supermodel, Bella Hadid, as brand ambassador-his.

Reporting from Turkiye media, Yeni Safak, Dior reportedly recruited a model from Israel, May Tager, to replace Bella as the model in their new advertisement. This was done because Bella was very vocal in defending Palestine.

“I am not afraid of losing my job as a model and I will continue to speak out regarding Palestine. Even if my career stops, I will never stop supporting Palestine,” said Bella, quoted from Turkiye NewspaperWednesday (8/11/2023).
