Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Taxpayers should not be afraid or worried if they receive a letter from the tax office, especially a Letter Requesting Explanation of Data and Information (SP2DK).
SP2DK is a letter issued by the Head of the Tax Service Office (KPP) to implement P2DK. Usually, this letter is given on suspicion that tax obligations have not been fulfilled by the taxpayer. Therefore, taxpayers who receive the letter simply need to respond with the data and facts they have.
“You just need to respond calmly based on the data you have,” said the Directorate General of Taxes via the official Instagram account (@ditjenpajakri), quoted Saturday (11/11/2023).
Through this letter, the Directorate General of Taxes provides taxpayers with the opportunity to report or make improvements to their tax reports in accordance with the provisions of the applicable tax law.
Generally, the Tax Office provides this letter by post, expedition service, fax, or delivered directly through a visit to the taxpayer’s location, or via online or video conference.
For the record, responses to the letter can be direct or in writing.
“If you need further information, you can contact the account representative contact provided (listed in the SP2DK),” explained the Directorate General of Taxes.
If the SP2DK is not responded to, the Directorate General of Taxes will follow up with an audit in accordance with statutory provisions. Meanwhile, the examiners are ASNs within the Directorate General of Taxes or experts appointed by the Directorate General of Taxes.
“As long as your response or clarification is based on concrete data and evidence that shows that your tax obligations have been carried out correctly, of course there is no tax to be paid,” said the Directorate General of Taxes.
