Exciting Eruption of Mount Tangkuban Perahu, Check the Facts Tech – 1 hour ago


Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – The issue of the eruption of Mount Tangkuban Perahu shocked the virtual world on Thursday (7/12). Many netizens questioned the validity of this information after a viral video.

The video shows the Ratu crater of Mount Tangkuban Perahu experiencing an eruption. Many visitors rushed to evacuate in their vehicles.


However, in fact, this information is fake, aka a hoax. The viral video was actually recorded in 2019, when the mountain in Subang experienced an eruption.

This was confirmed directly by the Center for Volcanology and Geological Disaster Mitigation (PVMBG) via its official X account.

“The video is of the eruption of Mount Tangkuban Perahu in 2019,” said the account, quoted Friday (8/12/2023).

It is known that Mount Tangkuban Perahu experienced an eruption for approximately 3 minutes 17 seconds four years ago, on September 7 2019 to be precise.

The head of the Tangkuban Parahu Volcano Observation Post, Adzan Anugrah Indiarsyah, also confirmed that the news of the eruption that shocked the internet was not true.

Furthermore, Adzan said that the condition of Mount Tangkuban Parahu was still normal so far.

“As for the activity level of Mount Tangkuban Parahu, currently it is still Normal Level I,” he said, quoted from Detik.
