Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Recently, two cosmetic brands from Indonesia, Rose All Day Cosmetics and ESQA Cosmetics, have been in the spotlight among beauty enthusiast Indonesia on social media regarding their position in viewing the war between Israel and Hamas.

Co-founder of ESQA Cosmetics, Cindy Angelina and Co-founder of Rose All Day Cosmetics, Tiffany Danielle, are suspected of supporting Israel because they liked a post by Israeli celebrity, Gal Gadot, which featured a photo of the “Star of David” symbol on a blue background with the words “I Stand with Israel”.

This was revealed after two X (formerly Twitter) users, @macagrintilatte and @trufflecrumble uploaded screenshots (screenshots) proof Cindy Angelina and Tiffany Danielle liked Gal Gadot’s post calling for support for Israel.

“Sorry OOT, I just found out that the co-founder of an Indonesian makeup brand is also pro-Zionist,” wrote @macagrintilatte while attaching evidence that Cindy Angelina liked Gal Gadot’s post, quoted on Tuesday (31/10/2023).

“Co-founder Rose All Day alsolike the post [Gal Gadot],” added @trufflecrumble while attaching related evidence.

These two tweets immediately shocked netizens X and Instagram. In fact, quite a few of them have decided to boycott or stop using Rose All Day Cosmetics and ESQA Cosmetics products.

Clarification of the Co-founder of Rose All Day Cosmetics

Responding to netizens’ criticism, Tiffany Danielle gave a statement via an Instagram Story upload on her personal account (@tiffyds). In her statement, Tiffany apologized for her attitude in liking Gal Gadot’s post supporting Israel.

Tiffany admitted that she had not had time to explore the issue of the war between Israel and Palestine when she liked the post.

“When I did that, I had not yet found out enough information about this incident. I only saw various posts on social media showing that many civilians had become victims on October 7 2023,” wrote Tiffany, quoted Tuesday (31/10/ 2023).

“I am aware that my actions could cause the misunderstanding that I am pro-Israel and do not sympathize with Palestinians,” he continued.

Furthermore, Tiffany explained that currently she has studied and understood the history of Israel’s oppression of Palestinians which has occurred for decades. Apart from that, he also opposes all forms of genocide that occurred in Palestine.

“I don’t agree with the way the Israeli government treats Palestinians. I am against genocide and I am pro-humanity. What I see now in Palestine is genocide, I pray for the Palestinian people, and all the civilians who have been victims,” ​​explained Tiffany.

“My personal stance does not represent the brand @roseallday.co co & @roseallday.skin and everyone who works behind this brand,” concluded Tiffany.

However, based on searches CNBC Indonesia, Tiffany has locked her personal Instagram account so that it cannot be visited by parties who do not follow her. Apart from that, the Rose All Day Cosmetics Instagram account also closed the comments column and has not uploaded any posts since three days ago.

Clarification of ESQA Cosmetics Co-founder

Similar to Tiffany, Cindy Angelina also gave a statement via a comment on one of her personal Instagram account posts (@angelinacindy). In these comments, Cindy emphasized that she had never supported genocide.

“I apologize profusely if this has caused any misunderstanding. My stance is clear and strong: I WILL NEVER SUPPORT GENOCIDE! I will never support war!” Cindy wrote in the comment.

Furthermore, Cindy emphasized that she condemned all attacks launched by Israel against civilians in Gaza. Apart from that, he also called for a ceasefire.

“Ceasefire now! Too many innocent lives have been lost and it has come to an end. My thoughts and prayers are with the families mourning their loss. I hope this can clarify the misunderstanding.
