Gibran Advances as Vice Presidential Candidate, This is Jokowi’s Answer to Ganjar News – 2 hours ago

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – President Joko Widodo (Jokowi), answered a question from the Chair of the DPR and Chair of the PDIP DPP, Puan Maharani, regarding support for Ganjar Pranowo as the presidential candidate (capres) for the 2024 presidential election supported by PDIP.

“Support everything for the good of this country,” said President Jokowi at the 2023 Santri Day rally in Surabaya, East Java, some time ago.

Jokowi was also reluctant to reveal whether he was leaning towards supporting one of the presidential candidate pairs (paslon) and vice presidential candidate (cawapres) in the upcoming presidential election.

Previously, Puan asked journalists to ask Jokowi about his support for Ganjar after the Constitutional Court (MK) granted one of the lawsuits which gave Jokowi’s eldest son, Gibran Rakabuming Raka, the opportunity to be registered as vice presidential candidate.

“The question must be asked to Pak Jokowi, not to me. So, let’s ask if the president has gone home, still supports Pak Ganjar Pranowo or has other options. Please ask. I also want to know the answer,” said Puan at the PDIP DPP Office, Central Jakarta, quoted from CNN Indonesia.

For your information, Gibran and Prabowo Subianto officially became the last pair to register with the General Election Commission (KPU), last Wednesday (25/10).

Meanwhile, Gibran can advance to the 2024 presidential election after the Constitutional Court issues a ruling on the condition that presidential and vice-presidential candidates must be 40 years old or have experience as regional heads.
