Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Secretary General of the DPP PDI Perjuangan (PDIP) Hasto Kristiyanto dismissed the rumors that the General Chair of the DPP PDIP Megawati Soekarnoputri and President Jokowi did not communicate intensively.

Hasto emphasized that communication between Megawati and Jokowi has been established for a long time. In fact, starting from 20 years ago.

At that time, said Hasto, Jokowi as a PDIP cadre was promoted to run as Mayor of Solo, Governor of DKI Jakarta and even President of the Republic of Indonesia for two terms.

This was conveyed by Hasto when asked by journalists about what communication and relations between Megawati and Jokowi were like at the moment.

“Yes, the communication has been working, it’s been proven for 20 years,” said Hasto when met on the sidelines of the Wayang Performance at the ANRI Building, Gadjah Mada, Jakarta, Friday (27/10/2023) evening.

“How about Pak Jokowi as Mayor of Solo for 2 terms, as Governor, as President for 2 terms, right?” he continued.

This politician from Yogyakarta also revealed how Megawati always gave Jokowi love like her own child. In fact, Hasto believes that Megawati’s love for Jokowi will never end.

“A mother’s commitment to love never ends,” said Hasto.

Meanwhile, Hasto also responded to the viral video on social media which showed Megawati slapping President Jokowi’s hand at the opening of the IV PDIP National Working Meeting at JiExpo Kemayoran, some time ago.

According to him, the video was the result of editing and manipulation that was attempted by certain parties to divide the relationship between Megawati and Jokowi.

“(The video) is artificial,” said Hasto.
