Don’t worry, if deactivating it is only temporary, you can restore your account and use it properly.

However, if you want to delete your account forever, you can choose the deactivate Instagram account feature permanently.

How to Close an Instagram Account

Please note that permanently deactivating an Instagram account means that Instagram will permanently delete the entire profile, photos, videos, comments and followers of the account.

There is no way to restore the account if you have permanently deleted it. If you are sure to deactivate your IG account permanently, please follow the steps below:

• Access instagram.com via a browser on your cellphone or desktop
• Login to your personal account.
• After logging in, please access the following website www.instagram.com/accounts/remove/permanent/ to delete your account forever.
• Please provide your reasons why you want to permanently delete your account.
• Input password to confirm.
• Then click the “Delete username” button to delete the account permanently.

How to Deactivate an Instagram Account

If you want to deactivate your account, you can only do it on the website using a browser.

• Login to your IG account via a browser on your cellphone or laptop.
• Click the account profile icon at the top right.
• Click “Profile”.
• Click the “Edit Profile” option.
• Scroll down until you find the “Temporarily deactivate my account” option on the right.
• Click “Temporarily disable my account” or “Temporarily disable my account”.
• Enter the reason why you want to deactivate the account.
• Then re-enter the password.
• After that click “Temporarily Disable Account” or “Temporarily disable account”.

How to Reactivate an Instagram Account

A temporarily disabled account will not delete uploads, comments and so on.

If you want to return your account, you only need to do the following:

• Open instagram.com via a browser or you can also use the application.
• Click “Log In”.
• Enter your user name or username.
• Fill in the password correctly.
• Then click “Sign in” or “Log In”.
• The account will automatically reactivate after being deactivated.
