Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – A burned-out SIM card can be a hassle. Because cellphone numbers are the most crucial tool for interacting at this time.
Not a few people are reluctant to change their cell phone number because it is already used and known by many people.
So, what if the SIM card is lost? Actually there is a special way to restore old numbers. Especially for Telkomsel users, there are three ways to activate the forfeited number.
Activating a forfeited cellphone number is free. However, users need to top up credit or an internet data package of at least IDR 10 thousand so that the active period can be extended.
Here’s how to activate a lost Telkomsel number, quoted from the official Telkomsel website, Thursday (9/11/2023):
Dial Code
The first way to do this is to dial the Telkomsel dial code from your cellphone. Dial *888*89# from the expired number to reactivate it.
Before that, first prepare several requirements, namely the KTP and KK registered on that number. Here’s how to activate a forfeited number with a dial code:
1. Dial *888*89#
2. Select Card Reactivation
3. Click Agree
4. Enter your KTP and KK number
5. Next there will be an SMSM notification about whether the cellphone number can be active or not.
Telkomsel E-Care
Users can also contact Telkomsel E-care on the operator’s official X account (Twitter) or Instagram. Don’t forget to prepare your registered KTP and KK data. Follow these steps to contact Telkomsel E-Care:
1. Look for Telkomsel’s social media accounts
2. Enter the DM (Direct Message) menu
3. Type ‘prepaid reactivation’
4. Next there will be a link to upload your KTP, KK number and photo of the reactivated physical SIM Card
5. Users will enter the video call queue to validate data
Grapari
The final way is to go to the nearest Grapari to your location. This method must be done by the owner of the cellphone number himself and cannot be represented.
Before coming to Grapari, first prepare the required data, namely your KTP, KK and burned SIM card.
