Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – IBM Indonesia President Director Roy Kosasih said that business people in Indonesia are grappling with cyber security challenges as the potential for data asset leaks increases. Even the National Cyber and Crypto Agency (BSSN) reports that no less than 976.5 million cyber attacks will occur in 2022.
The IBM X-Force Threat Intelligence Index 2023 also reported that Asia Pacific was the region most frequently targeted by cybercrime for two years in a row. The report stated that manufacturing was the industry most attacked, followed by the finance and insurance industry in second place.
Therefore, Roy revealed that IBM Indonesia and PT Multipolar Technology Tbk (MLPT) as a business partner, we are partnering to help businesses in Indonesia utilize AI-based technology solutions. The goal is to increase resilience to cyber attacks.
“With a portfolio of cyber security solutions and services for businesses that are more sophisticated, integrated and, equipped with the zero trust principle, IBM Indonesia and Multipolar Technology are able to help businesses continue to develop in the face of cyber threats,” he said in a written statement, Thursday (10/ 11/2023).

He said this AI technology was also presented through IBM Security QRadar which utilizes the power of AI to help businesses in Indonesia. Technology is able to conduct investigations quickly, provide real-time monitoring, and prioritize alerts with a high level of accuracy based on credibility, relevance and level of risk.
“Cyber criminals will always look for new ways to continue carrying out attacks. Therefore, business players must be able to increase organizational resilience to cyber attacks by speeding up detection and response to threats. This is where AI plays a role as a catalyst,” explained Roy.
Roy also emphasized the importance of collaboration in strengthening domestic cyber security. In this case, partnerships with the government and the private sector are very crucial.
“Appropriate and strategic regulations as well as the use of AI-based solutions that are safe, trustworthy and responsible in developing cyber security are the answer.
Meanwhile, Director of Enterprise Application Services Business Multipolar Technology, Jip Ivan, added that one example of using AI in cyber security is in threat detection.
“AI brings additional context from larger, disparate data sets or detects anomalies in user behavior patterns. AI-based solutions like IBM Security QRadar can work behind the scenes in individual security tools that are more effective and accurate,” he stressed.
