Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – The UN General Assembly called for an immediate, durable and sustainable humanitarian ceasefire between Israel and Hamas. The UN also demands unimpeded aid access to the besieged Gaza Strip.

The resolution does not name Hamas, which is holding some 220 civilians captured in a devastating attack on October 7. But they called for the “immediate and unconditional release” of all civilians held illegally and demanded their safety and humane treatment, as well as condemning attacks on Palestinian and Israeli civilians.
