Lin warned that the US should not try to contain China. But there are more important things for the Joe Biden administration to work on.

One of them is that the US was asked to focus more on maintaining leadership in chip design. Apart from that, it is also building manufacturing processes to further strengthen its dominance.

“It is impossible for the US to completely prevent China from improving its chip technology.” he explained.

The US is known to continue to impose restrictions on the use of the latest technology in China. However, on the contrary, China found a way to get out of this problem.

In the midst of these sanctions, Huawei launched the Huawei Mate 60 Pro with a 7nm chip developed by SMIC. This cellphone can also access the 5G network.

Lin himself believes that SMIC is maximizing the capabilities of the ASML machine. This machine produces the Kirin 9000S chip.

In addition, he added that the company could further improve its machines to produce 5nm chips. So it increases chip performance and energy efficiency.

China is also known to replace all products in a number of sectors with domestically made products. This happened after the US technology block issued in 2022 was expanded this year.

Local BUMN is known to have replaced its entire office software system with local products. This replacement will be carried out until 2027.

Not only BUMN offices, the same policy is reported to have spread to the telecommunications and financial sectors.
