Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – 2023 will end in a few days. Throughout 2023, Indonesia will still show its strength in maintaining economic growth amidst global uncertainty. Data from the Central Statistics Agency shows that Indonesia’s economic growth in the third quarter of 2023 continues to grow strongly at 4.94% (yoy).

Economic growth remains strong, supported by solid domestic demand. Household consumption grew by 5.06% (yoy), in line with the continued increase in mobility, stable public purchasing power, and still high consumer confidence.

With these developments, economic growth in 2023 is predicted to remain in the range of 4.5-5.3%. So what about the economy in 2024?

To further discuss the economic outlook, the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs held a National Seminar on the 2024 Indonesian Economic Outlook with the theme “Optimism for Strengthening the National Economy amidst Global Dynamics”. This event will take place on Friday, December 22 2023, from 08.00 WIB to 11.00 WIB.

This event will feature President Joko Widodo who will deliver a keynote speech and Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto who will deliver the Opening Speech. Apart from that, there will also be panelists from various backgrounds. The panelists will be divided into two sessions.

Panel 1 discussion raised the theme “Policy Strategy to Encourage Sustainable Economic Growth”. The panelists in this discussion included Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Arifin Tasrif, Deputy Minister of State-Owned Enterprises Kartika Wirjoatmodjo, President of the Economic Research Institute for ASEAN and East Asia (ERIA) Prof. Tetsuya Watanabe, and Chancellor of the University of Indonesia Prof. Ari Kuncoro.

Meanwhile, panel discussion 2 raised the theme “Synergy of Fiscal, Monetary and Financial Sector Policies to Maintain Indonesia’s Economic Resilience in the Midst of Global Dynamics”. The panelists who will attend include Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani Indrawati, Governor of Bank Indonesia Perry Warjiyo, Chairman of the Board of Commissioners of the Financial Services Authority Mahendra Siregar, and Senior Economist Chatib Basri.
