Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – The 2024 election will be marked by a number of famous artists and celebrities. Even though they have no background in politics, a number of celebrities are confident about running for legislative positions, both at regional and national levels.

The two most prominent names in this year’s political contestation include Ahmad Dhani and Once Mekel. Even though they used to play music in the same band, Ahmad Dhani and Once came from different parties. Dhani was promoted by Gerindra, while Once was from PDIP.

They also ‘fight’ in different arenas. Dhani is running as a DPR RI legislative candidate from the East Java I electoral district (dapil). Meanwhile, Once is a DPR RI legislative candidate from the Jakarta II electoral district, which is often referred to as ‘Hell’s electoral district’ because the battle is very fierce.

Based on the results real count Provisional KPU as of February 16 2024 at 17.30 WIB, Ahmad Dhani has collected 19,032 votes. The man whose real name is Dhani Ahmad Prasetyo is so far in second place with the most votes compared to other PDIP legislative candidates competing in the same electoral district.

Meanwhile, Once has collected 67,245 votes. Once is in fourth place with the most votes of all PDIP legislative candidates in the Jakarta II electoral district.

However, it should be noted that this is a calculation of around 40% of the votes that have just entered the KPU. This means that the count is not yet final.
