‘Parasite’ Film Actor Lee Sun Kyun Examined in Drug Case Lifestyle – 4 hours ago

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – South Korean police are said to be conducting an internal investigation into actor Lee Sun-kyun for alleged drug use. Lee Sun-kyun is famous for his role in the film “Parasite” which won the Oscar award.

The Incheon Metropolitan Police Agency has opened an investigation into eight people, including the actor and a scion of a chaebol (a term for Korean conglomerate families), on allegations that they used illegal drugs several times this year, Yonhap News Agency reported.

Although the police have not officially named Lee as a suspect, investigators are said to have found strong evidence regarding the actor’s illegal activities.

Meanwhile, Lee Sun-kyun’s agency, HODU&U Entertainment, confirmed that the artist was being investigated for suspected drug abuse.

“We sincerely apologize for causing concern over reports about actor Lee Sun-kyun. We are checking the veracity of the suspicions raised against Lee, and will fully cooperate in future police investigations,” HODU&U Entertainment, Lee’s agency, said in a broadcast the press.

The agency said Lee Sun-kyun complained to the police about extortion in a drug case allegedly related to Lee. Lee claims the person extorted hundreds of thousands of dollars from him.

Lee Sun-kyun (48 years old) is a veteran South Korean actor. He has starred in a number of popular dramas and films, including “Helpless” (2012), “All About My Wife” (2012) and “A Hard Day” (2014) and My Mister (2018).

Lee Sun-kyun won the Screen Actors Guild Award along with other actors for his role in “Parasite” directed by Bong Joon-ho.
