Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Senior Indonesian comedian, Alfiansyah Komeng, became the spotlight of netizens after he was found to be running in the 2024 General Election (Pemilu) as a candidate for member of the Regional Representative Council (DPD) for the West Java electoral district (dapil). Moreover, it seems that Komeng has never campaigned or put up billboards.

Apart from running as a candidate for DPD membership, Komeng attracted attention because he used humorous photos on his ballot papers. Meanwhile, the photo used by Komeng is a portrait with his typical “comedy” facial expression and a deliberately tilted head position.

Based on monitoring CNBC Indonesia on Thursday (15/2/2024) at 15.00 WIB, Komeng led the most votes as a candidate for West Java DPD member with a total of 305,118 or 8.52 percent. Even though the total votes collected were only 35.39 percent, Komeng’s votes were far ahead of the other candidates.

If Komeng’s vote remains superior until the end of the recapitulation then how much salary will he get as a DPD member?

The salaries and allowances of DPD members are regulated in Government Regulation (PP) Number 58 of 2008 concerning Administrative Financial Rights for the Chair, Deputy Chair, and Members of the Regional Representative Council as well as former Chair, Deputy Chair, and Members of the Regional Representative Council and their Widows/Widowers.

In Article 3, the basic salary and allowances for the position of chairman, deputy chairman and members of the DPD are the same as the basic salary and allowances for the position of chairman, deputy chairman and members of the People’s Representative Council (DPR). Here’s what the article says.

“The basic salary and allowances for the Chairman, Deputy Chairman and Members of the Regional Representative Council are the same as the basic salary and allowances for the positions of Chairman, Deputy Chairman and Members of the Regional Representative Council in accordance with statutory provisions..”

Currently, details of salaries and allowances for DPR members are regulated in the Circular Letter of the Secretariat General of the DPR RI No.KU.00/9414/DPR RI/XII/2010 and Letter of the Minister of Finance Number S-520/MK.02/2015.

The basic salary of members of the DPR is also regulated in PP Number 75 of 2000 concerning the Basic Salary of the Highest/Highest State Institutions and Members of High State Institutions as well as the Honor Fee for Members of High State Institutions.

In Article 1, the basic salary for DPR members is IDR 4.2 million. However, this salary does not include other allowances, among others.

1. The trial fee/package is IDR 2,000,000

2. Member assistant Rp. 2,250,000.

3. Rice allowance IDR 30,090 per person, every month.

4. PPh allowance IDR 2,699,813.

5. The wife’s allowance is 10 percent of the basic salary or IDR 420,000

6. The allowance for two children is 2 percent of the basic salary or IDR 168,000

7. Member position allowance IDR 9,700,000 per month

8. DPR members’ honorary allowance is IDR 5,580,000 per month.

9. DPR members’ communication allowance is IDR 15,554,000 per month.

10. Electrical and telephone assistance Rp. 7,700,000
