Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Rumors of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s closeness are not just fiction. Most recently, the two of them held hands for the first time in public.

Taylor and Travis were seen leaving a restaurant together in New York City on Saturday (10/14) evening. When he left, Travis took Taylor’s hand and the two of them walked towards the car which was waiting for the musician and athlete to arrive.

Travis also let Taylor enter the car first and was followed by a number of their bodyguards before he got into the car.

So, who is Travis Kelce?

Born with the full name Travis Michael Kelce, he is a footballer and Chairman of the National Football League (NFL) Kansas City who was born on October 5 1989. Currently, Kelce is 33 years old and comes from Cleveland Heights, Ohio.

He played football at the University of Cincinnati from 2008 to 2012. Then, Travis was selected by the Kansas City Chiefs in the third round of the 2013 NFL Draft and has played in Kansas City for his entire 11-year career so far.

Travis isn’t the only member of his family to have a successful NFL career. His older brother, Jason Kelce, plays for the Philadelphia Eagles.

According to USA Today, Travis and Jason Kelce co-host a popular podcast called “New Heights,” named in honor of their hometown of Cleveland Heights.

On the podcast, the two chatted about life and football, and even talked about Taylor Swift.

“New Heights” premiered in 2022 and quickly became one of the most popular sports podcasts in the US.

Travis Kelce starred in a reality show in 2016 called “Catching Kelce.” During the show, she will choose among 50 women from all 50 states.

Then, Travis would take the women on dates to concerts, on cruise ships and private jets.

“What these ladies don’t know is that I’m actually just as nervous as they are,” Travis said, in one clip of the day he met the contestants.

The show was discontinued after one season.

Travis Kelce’s dating past: Maya Benberry, Kayla Nicole

Kelce briefly dated Maya Benberry, the winner of “Catching Kelce,” but the couple broke up after the show, according to a YouTube video Benberry posted in December 2016.

Benberry issued a warning to Swift in an interview with the DailyMail published Tuesday about dating Kelce. “Once a cheater, always a cheater,” he said.

“Taylor seems like a lovely girl with a beautiful soul, so I wish her the best, but I wouldn’t be a girl’s girl if I didn’t advise her to be smart! I’m sure by now she’s mastered the ability to see who is really was there for him – and who was just taking advantage of him.”

Benberry previously shared that his time with Kelce was his first interracial relationship, which was a challenge.

“It’s definitely difficult just because I want to enjoy my relationship and a lot of people see color. A lot of the negative comments I get are about me and the color of my skin, saying that I need to get back on the path of welfare, things like that,” she said on the channel YouTube.

She said dating Kelce was fun at first and they had something special even though they had to sneak around Kansas City so he wouldn’t be recognized and photographed.

Overall, Benberry said their relationship was a great experience.

In 2017, Kelce began dating Kayla Nicole, a broadcast sports reporter and model. They were together for five years, Kelce told “The Pivot Podcast.”

Kelce said on the podcast that they had broken up.

What does Travis Kelce say about dating Taylor Swift?

On The Pat McAfee Show on Thursday, Travis was asked about what may or may not be happening with his love life.

“It’s funny how much traction this has gotten. It’s like a game of ‘telephone’ where everyone is just whispering in each other’s ears,” he said of the Swift rumors.

He reminded viewers that he had put the ball in his court when he invited the pop star to watch a Chiefs game and hinted at something to come in the future.

“I told him that I had seen him perform on stage at Arrowhead and he should probably come see me perform on stage at Arrowhead. We’ll see what happens in the near future,” he said.
